new forest“Rob West from Vesper Conservation and Ecology provided an excellent service to the Community Wildlife Plans Project which works within the New Forest Land Advice Service in Marchwood in 2013 when his team delivered a litter pick along the lower stretches of the Magazine Lane Stream. He worked thoroughly along the stream in difficult conditions, with tidal mud and tides to contend with. He politely informed passers-by of what they were up to, which helped to increase local support for looking after their local stream. Rob and his team collected and removed four tonnes of rubbish in total giving the stream a new lease of life. Several members of the local community commented afterwards on the difference it has made, and local people have started to work together through the project to try to keep the stream litter-free and improve the condition of this well-loved stream.”

epr pic‘’Rob has assisted us with on-site implementation and survey work on several of our projects, providing useful additional support to our team for big projects. The work has ranged from assisting with sensitive reptile displacement work, surveys for a range of species including bats, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and rare plants. Rob has also provided us with field support for a large and very successful habitat creation project in Hampshire involving large-scale tree planting, and another project in Surrey that required the creation of a pond and the sensitive removal of trees and scrub. The work has all been carried out successfully and within the required timescales’’

Copy of New Logo 2011‘Vesper Conservation and Ecology have been carrying out scrub clearance  for us on chalk grassland sites for the Duke of Burgundy butterfly. These sites needed very sensitive management, and we were pleased with the way the contracts were delivered’.

BC master_new hi res (1)We were delighted with the work done by Vesper Conservation and Ecology to improve breeding habitat for Duke of Burgundy butterfly as part of our Dukes on the Edge Project in the South Downs in 2014. Rob and his team carried out scrub and coppice management on two sites at short notice and made short work of dense scrub on steep sites with difficult access. The work was carried out to a high standard and has produced exactly the conditions we wanted. Vesper have the ecological understanding necessary to deliver high quality practical habitat management work and we would certainly recommend them.‘The Duke of Burgundy liked it too – butterflies moved straight in and bred on one site just two months after the work was completed’

Vesper Conservation & Ecology were able to assist us at short notice late in the 2013 season due to delays on the part of our local planning service in identifying that we needed a bat survey. The pricing for the survey was clear and competitive, and it was straightforward to arrange logistics and have the survey carried out. The completed survey was passed to the planning service and we received no follow-up questions from them. The survey was clearly of an appropriate standard and contained the necessary information for the planning service to proceed. We are content to recommend Vesper Conservation & Ecology and would be happy to speak with any potential client if they had any queries.
